Company Dinners in Salou: How to Organise an Event Worth Remembering

The company dinner has a bad reputation. Too often it has meant a soulless set menu, wine from an anonymous cellar and a management speech that ran longer than anyone wanted. But it doesn't have to be that way. At Carbònic we organise events for groups and companies with the same criteria we apply to daily service: real produce, a coherent menu, and the attention deserved by those who choose us.

The spaces: which format suits your group

The options are more flexible than they might seem. For small or medium groups, we can reserve a table in the dining room for a business lunch or dinner without any additional formality. For larger groups, our Sala Priorat seats up to 90 people: a space with its own identity, warm lighting and acoustics designed for conversation, named after the neighbouring appellation as a tribute to the wines that define our list. For larger-scale events, we also offer exclusive hire of the full restaurant, with capacity for up to 150 guests. And for corporate presentations or more informal aperitifs, the lounge works both as a relaxed pre-dinner space and as a standalone venue for an event without a formal meal.

The gastronomic proposal: no hotel menus

The gastronomic proposal for groups is not a reduced menu of three options. We work with clients to design a bespoke menu that reflects what we want their guests to remember. If the group comes to celebrate a company anniversary, we talk about the year's milestones and translate that into the dinner's narrative. If it's a welcome dinner for new hires, the welcome cocktails and aperitivo take centre stage. Each event has its own script.

What sets a company dinner at Carbònic apart from an event at a hotel or catering venue is real cooking. We don't work with satellite kitchens or centralised production: everything comes from our kitchen, prepared on the day, with the same raw ingredients we serve in regular service. The grilled meats, the seasonal vegetables, the house-made desserts. The team attending private events is the same team working daily service—not an outsourced crew.

Wine selection

Wine selection for groups is perhaps where we contribute most. With over 400 references in the cellar, we have room to design a pairing that goes beyond the usual red-or-white. We can work with local appellations that will be a discovery for guests from outside the region—Priorat and Montsant are always a revelation for groups arriving from northern Europe—or with more classic profiles for international groups. We also have a Coravin selection for those who want to include premium references by the glass without opening full bottles.

Frequently asked questions and logistics

For groups of more than 12 people we recommend getting in touch at least two weeks in advance. Private events have their own rhythm and the details—table layout, lighting, music, service timing—require planning. Write to us and we'll start designing your event.

Some frequently asked questions: Can dietary intolerances and allergies be accommodated? Yes, always, discreetly, without singling out guests with restrictions. Is there a vegetarian or vegan option for part of the group? Yes, we design coherent alternatives that don't create two visible categories of diners. Can we bring our own personalised cake? Yes, we'll present it at the table at the right moment, no extra charge.

Budgets for private events are based on the jointly designed menu. As a general guide, group menus include aperitif, sharing starters, a grilled main, dessert, water and selected wines. Price per person varies with wine choices and menu scope. We work with adapted budgets and no surprises: what we agree is what gets invoiced.
